Healing Q & A

The JCPF provides training for those who wish to become Spiritual Healers and accepts into Membership those who meet the organisation's standards. The Charity is staffed by volunteers, where Healing is available to the public on a regular basis, and private healing appointments are available on request.

Spiritual Healing is a natural energy therapy. It complements conventional medicine by treating the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Spiritual Healers act as a conduit for healing energy, often described as 'love and light' which relaxes the body, releases tensions and stimulates self-healing. The benefits of healing can be felt on many levels, not just the physical, and the effects can be profound

Isn't it Faith Healing? What's the difference? No. Spiritual Healing is not Faith Healing. The term 'Faith Healing' implies that the recipient needs to believe in a deity for healing to be given. Spiritual Healers connect their consciousness to the eternal essence of all life and become an instrument of that power when they heal. Some healers will be devotees of particular religions but in their practise as spiritual healers will never advise the patient of their need to comply to that faith. The Faith of a patient is respected at all times but if a patient has no Faith it does not prevent them from receiving healing.

Where does this 'healing energy' come from? Healing energy is essentially a quality force that is capable of revitalising and reconstituting and is present in the higher order of all energy. As such it is 'universal' - part of nature itself. All forms of life have this connection –just how it feeds into us is something of a mystery. The healer has learnt to access this quality force and channel it to people, animals and even to environments. Depending upon their individual beliefs some healers and recipients see the energy as divine; others sense it as pure universal energy. It is often visualised as simply 'love and light'.

Are Spiritual Healers properly trained? How are you regulated? Healers who belong to JCPF complete a two-year comprehensive programme of training, practise and development as trainee healers before they are eligible to be qualified as Full trained Healers. All JCPF healers are insured for the protection of the public and themselves when in practise and are bound by a Code of Conduct which sets standards for practising healer members and which acts as a reference on those standards for the public.

What does the JCPF do? JCPF is a registered charity (No 275018) that was established to teach, practise and promote spiritual healing and mediumship in 1967. The charity provides a teaching platform, courses, workshops and healing clinics as opportunities for its members and the general public. The JPCF develops and sets standards for healers which our members must meet and in conjunction with other national organisations has agreed standards and training programmes which can qualify JCPF healers to national level. In recent years the training courses have been revised in line with the JCPF commitment to raise standards for the protection of the public and healers in practise.

What is Distant Healing? Distant healing is healing performed when the patient is not present. It is possible to transmit healing energies over any distance and this form of healing can be very effective. The patients may or may not be aware that this healing has been undertaken for them but may attain much benefit from it coming as it does from the love and concern that their friends and relatives have for them.

When does the Distant Healing take place? Every week, on various days or nights, JCPF Healer Members join together for the purpose of sending Distant Healing. The service exists to meet the needs of those people who are either unable to receive contact healing or who prefer to receive healing this way.

Add a name to our Distant Healing List. If you or someone you know would like to receive Distant Healing please write to us asking that Distant Healing be sent and telling us who needs the Healing and as much as you wish about why Healing is needed. We will then do everything we can for the person you have named. We can never promise a particular outcome but it is unusual for healing not to be helpful in some way.

Your communication with us plays an important part in the process: If you prefer to communicate in writing rather than by our email link, then send your request to Distant Healing, JCPF charity, 250 Chichester Road, North End, Portsmouth PO2 0AU. If you require a written response please include a SAE.

The JCPF is a Registered Charity Number 275018 and relies on voluntary donations to maintain the healing services we provide. The Charity asks everyone who seeks Distant Healing to make a donation, if at all possible, to help us maintain the service
